Mr. Md. Delowar Hossain ACS

Mr. Md. Delowar Hossain joined Confidence Cement PLC as Company Secretary on 11 March 2018. Subsequently, he was entrusted with the additional responsibility of Head of Legal Affairs. He is currently serving the Company in the dual capacity of Company Secretary and Head of Legal Affairs.

Before joining Confidence Cement PLC, Mr. Hossain served as Assistant Company Secretary at S. Alam Group, one of the leading and fastest-growing business conglomerates in Bangladesh. Earlier in his career, he worked as Deputy Manager – Corporate Affairs at A.A. Mahmud & Co., a renowned Cost and Management Accountancy firm.

Mr. Hossain is a qualified Chartered Secretary and Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB). HE successfully completed the Chartered Secretary (CS) qualification from ICSB and earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from the Bangladesh Institute of Management (BIM), Dhaka, with distinction. He is also a certified Income Tax Practitioner (ITP), accredited by the National Board of Revenue (NBR), Bangladesh.

He obtained his LL.B. degree from Chattogram Law College under the National University of Bangladesh and is an apprentice lawyer of the Dhaka Judge Court. He has an outstanding academic record, having completed both his Master of Business Studies (MBS) and Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) from the National University of Bangladesh.

Mr. Hossain is a seasoned governance and legal professional with extensive experience in corporate governance, legal affairs, regulatory compliance, corporate management, statutory affairs, and stakeholder engagement. Over the years, he has played a significant role in strengthening governance frameworks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic corporate initiatives.

In addition to being a Fellow Member of ICSB, he is also a Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Bangladesh (IIAB).

Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Mr. Hossain serves as Chairman of the Chattogram Regional Chapter Sub-Committee of ICSB, the statutory professional body established under an Act of Parliament to develop, promote, and regulate the profession of Chartered and Company Secretaries in Bangladesh. Under his leadership, ICSB successfully established its first branch office in Chattogram outside Dhaka, marking a significant milestone in the Institute’s history and contributing to the expansion of professional services across the country.
